The UNESCO Geopark of Haute-Provence is a unique, authentic territory in the Alpes de Haute Provence. It covers 58 municipalities in the departments over an area of 1,989 km2.
The UNESCO Geopark of Haute-Provence was the 1st Geopark in the world to be recognized by UNESCO. It served as a model for the creation of the 127 UNESCO Geoparks to be found today on the 5 continents.
