In 2015 for the 1815-2015 bicentenary, les Randonnées de la Route Napoléon were inaugurated. These hiking itineraries follow in the footsteps of Napoleon in the Alpes de Haute Provence.

The “Route Napoléon à pied” itinerary is a Grande Randonnée foot trail (GR®406) over 165 km linking Grasse (Alpes-Maritimes) to Sisteron (Alpes de Haute Provence).
The itinerary is described in detail in the topo-guide by the FFRandonnée. It was inaugurated in July 2015.
In the Alpes de Haute Provence the itinerary goes through the following municipalities: Peyroules, La Garde, Castellane*, Senez, Barrême*, Chaudon-Norante*, Entrages, Digne-les-Bains*, Le Chaffaut St Jurson, Mallemoisson, Mirabeau, Malijai*, L’Escale, Volonne*, Salignac, Entrepierres, Sisteron*

“La Route Napoléon à cheval” (the Route Napoléon on horseback), “Grand Itinéraire Équestre” approved
The itinerary of the “Route Napoléon à cheval” is a 360 km-long horse-trek along trails marked for riders, linking Grasse (Alpes-Maritimes) to Vizille (Isère).
It was inaugurated in May 2015. It was approved a “Grand Itinéraire Equestre” in March 2016 by the Fédération Française d’Équitation (FFE) and the Comité National de Tourisme Équestre (CNTE).
The Grand Itinéraire Equestre goes through 4 departments (Alpes Maritimes, Alpes de Haute Provence, Hautes-Alpes, Isère).
It is described in a carto-guide and on the www.crte-region-sud.fr website.
