Eglise Paroissiale Saint Barthélemy

Eglise Paroissiale Saint Barthélemy

Built on the foundations of the first church of the village, St André, dating back to the 13th century, St Barthélémy church was ultimately built in the early 16th century by the inhabitants.

Parishioners chose St Bartholomew as their patron saint to get some more help after the plague and wars.
From 490 inhabitants in 1316, the community only had 160 left in 1471, that being a 68% loss.
It would never go back to those first numbers, struggling to reach 340 in 1765. Then the population dropped again with 260 inhabitants in 1851 and 79 in 2000.
